Out in the green

Parks, paths, thermal water and snow

A quarter of Italy is inside some kind of protected boundary, and the towns inside those boundaries tend to have been left alone by the things that changed everywhere else. What follows is organised by what is actually around the town rather than by how the scenery photographs: a national park is a legal boundary, a walking route is a route somebody walks, and thermal water either comes out of the ground there or it does not.
