Bobbio, Emilia-Romagna

Skiing in Italy is not only Cortina and Courmayeur. It is a hundred small towns with a lift or two, a rifugio that does polenta, and a season pass that costs what a weekend costs in France. Some of them are in the Apennines, one or two are in Calabria, and most of them are lovely in July as well.
