Using this site

This site is a catalogue of a thousand Italian towns and a place we write about them. It is free, there is no account, and reading it asks nothing of you. Most of what follows only matters if you use the trip planner or intend to reuse our work.

The planner

The planner is the one part of the site where you tell us something. You answer a handful of questions about the trip you want, and it builds a plan out of the catalogue. By using it you accept that those answers are stored, and that the plan produced from them is saved with its own public web address that anyone holding the link can open. We do not ask for your name or your email to run it.

It is a free informational tool and not a licensed travel service under the Italian Codice del Turismo or the EU Package Travel Directive 2015/2302. We do not sell, book, or arrange transport, accommodation, or anything else. Using it creates no contract between us, and no part of a plan is a booking or a promise that a place will be open when you get there.

What the catalogue is, and is not

Everything here is compiled from public sources and checked at the time of writing, with the method set out on About the data. Italy moves faster than any catalogue. Opening times, prices, roads, festival dates and whether a restaurant still exists all change without telling us. Confirm anything that depends on a date or a price with the comune, the organisers, or the venue before you travel. Where our data says nothing about a town, that means we have not recorded it, never that the thing is absent.

What belongs to whom

The writing on this site and the way the catalogue is put together are ours. Names, ratings and awards from guides such as MICHELIN, Gambero Rosso or Slow Food belong to those guides. We record that a guide recognised a place and we link out to it, and we do not reproduce their words or invent a rating of our own. Photographs come from public sources under their own licences, with the photographer credited on the page.

You are welcome to read it, link to it, and quote a passage with a link back. You may not copy the catalogue wholesale, scrape it, or republish it as your own work or as training material sold on. If you want to do something with the data, write and ask.

What we do not promise

The site is offered as it is. We try hard to be accurate and we say plainly when we are not certain, but we cannot promise the site is always available, always current, or free of error. We are not liable for what a trip turns into: a closed museum, a cancelled festival, a road that was shut, a night that was not worth it. Those decisions stay yours, which is also the honest way round.

Law, and changes

Estonian law applies and Estonian courts have jurisdiction. If you live in the EU, this does not take away the consumer rights your own country gives you. If these terms change we will change this page and move the date at the top.
