When to go

Umbria in January

Across the 48 Umbria towns we hold, January averages 9 degrees by day and 2 at night, with about 10 days of rain. Measured 2020–2024.

Not the month we would pick

We do not currently list a town in Umbria we would send you to in January, and we would rather say that than pad the page. The months that score highest here are June, September and October.

Somewhere else, or some other month

Next door in January: Tuscany, Marche, Lazio.

Umbria through the year: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December.

Or the whole country: Italy in January, and every town in Umbria.

The Sunday letter

The 1,000 Italian towns most travelers skip.

Every Sunday we send one letter. The week's town, what is worth eating there, and when to turn up. It is free, and you can leave whenever you like.

The button takes you to the letter's own page on Substack, where you leave your email. About the letter
