The data behind the site
Everything the site is built on, as files you can open in a spreadsheet. The counts below are computed from the same call that builds each file, so the page and the download cannot drift apart. How the data was gathered, and what we refuse to publish, is in about the data.
- The catalogue1,000 rows
One row per commune: where it is, how high, how many people, which designations it holds, whether it has a railway station, and the nearest airport with the measured drive.

- Climate normals12,000 rows
Mean daily high, mean daily low and rain days for every month, measured at each commune's own coordinates over 2020–2024. A rain day is 1 mm or more.

- Measured journeys3,179 rows
Every journey the site publishes: city to town, airport to town, station to town. All of them by road, because we hold no rail timetable and will not imply one.

- The Top 100100 rows
The hundred towns we would send a first-time visitor to, grouped by region. A selection, not a ranking: the file carries no position column.

Using it
Quote it, chart it, check our arithmetic. We ask for a link back to the page the number came from, so your reader can do the same. If you want the whole set for something larger, write to us first at ciao@anywhereitaly.com.
One thing we will not do is publish a number we cannot show you the source of. Where a field is missing it is empty, never a zero, and the towns we hold no figure for are said out loud rather than quietly dropped.
