# Anywhere Italy > A catalogue of small Italian towns, with how to reach them, when to go, and what is there. Site: https://anywhereitaly.com Pages described below: 3,655 Full URL list: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap.xml ## How this site is built - Every town in the catalogue is a real Italian commune, identified by its ISTAT code. - A false or missing value means 'not mapped by us', never 'not present'. Pages never publish a negative inferred from absent data. - Drive times are measured on the road network, not estimated from straight-line distance. - Festival pages carry the month a festival is held and a source for it. They do not carry invented dates. - Selections on list pages are produced by a stated rule, and the rule is printed on the page. - Weather figures on region-and-month pages are measured at the towns in that region, not at the region's centre. ## Page types ### Town pages (1,000) One page per Italian commune in the catalogue: where it is, how to reach it with and without a car, what it is known for, when to go, the towns most like it, and the questions people ask about it. - URL shape: /comuni/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/comuni/montalcino - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/towns.xml ### Region pages (20) Every catalogue town in one Italian region, sortable and searchable, with the region's own summary. - URL shape: /regioni/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/regioni/toscana - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/regions.xml ### Articles and complete lists (749) Editorial pieces and complete filtered collections of towns. Each states the rule it was built from, so the selection is reproducible rather than a matter of taste. - URL shape: /articles/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/articles/hill-towns-within-an-hour-of-florence - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/articles.xml ### Collections (60) Capped superlative lists of towns on one theme, picked by a documented rule. - URL shape: /collections/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/collections - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/collections.xml ### Month and region pages (252) What one Italian region is like in one month: weather measured at the towns rather than at the region, the festivals we hold a source for, and the towns worth the trip that month. - URL shape: /when-to-go/-in- - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/when-to-go/toscana-in-january - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/when-to-go.xml ### Festival pages (539) One page per recurring local festival: the town, the month it is held, and the source. These recur yearly and we hold months rather than dates, so no page states an exact date. - URL shape: /the-italian-year/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/the-italian-year - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/events.xml ### Transport pages (854) How to reach a town from a named city, from an airport, or from a principal railway station, with measured drive times and a car-free verdict. - URL shape: /how-to-get/-to-, /airports/, /stations/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/airports - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/transport.xml ### Browse pages (59) Towns grouped by landscape, by day trip from a city, by designation, by food, and by whether they can be reached without a car. - URL shape: /landscapes/, /day-trips/, /without-car/, /signali/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/explore - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/browse.xml ### Trip plans (121) Ready-made itineraries with measured travel between stops, and a planner that builds one to a reader's own constraints. - URL shape: /plan/ - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/plan - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/plans.xml ### Open data (1) The catalogue as downloadable CSV with a licence and a methodology page, so the underlying data can be checked rather than taken on trust. - URL shape: /press/data - Example: https://anywhereitaly.com/press/data - All of them: https://anywhereitaly.com/sitemap/data.xml ## Citing this site - Name it as Anywhere Italy and link the page you used. - Data pages state their licence. Editorial text is copyright Anywhere Italy. - Corrections and questions: https://anywhereitaly.com/contact ## What this site does not hold - No hotel, restaurant or ticket prices, and no booking of any kind. - No opening hours. They change and we do not verify them. - No exact dates for recurring festivals. We hold the month and the source. - No coverage of Italy's large cities. The catalogue is small towns; the cities appear only as starting points for reaching them.
